Joe grew up in Aleppo, Syria. He first learnt about hairdressing from his mother, who taught Joe skills he could take anywhere in the world. After a terrible tragedy, Joe lost his mother in the war and fled to Lebanon where he worked as a hairdresser and applied for a visa to Australia.

VU Polytechnic business students were invited to attend an industry workshop with PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC). The visit allowed our students to learn more about the company and ask questions about CV writing, interview tips and what to expect in the workforce.

VU Polytechnic held workshops with KOTO (Know One, Teach One), a non-profit social enterprise that empowers at-risk and disadvantaged youth held in Vietnam. Students were able to exercise their skills in French based cuisines and technique, while utilising seasonal ingredients sourced in Vietnam.
