Through the Free TAFE initiative, Mandy Buchholtz changed her career path to follow her passion that she found purposeful.

On 18 November VU Polytechnic hosted the annual Carnivale at Williamstown Town Hall to celebrate the spectacular works of our hair, makeup, beauty and massage students.

After dropping out of high school, Caroline Edmunds took on the responsibility of completing VCE at VU Polytechnic and continued pursuit of exploring her interests in business to go onto further study at VU. She is now the Social Media Manager for Thinktank Social agency and is endlessly engaged with the wide-ranging and expansive number of brands and businesses she manages.

Werribee Park was recently taken over by a crowd of 10,000 visitors for the Children’s Week Picnic. Read about VU Polytechnic’s participation in the day and in other children’s week events in Brimbank, Hobsons Bay and Maribyrnong.

VU Polytechnic received top honours at Hair & Beauty Industry Association (HBIA) Awards, held on 11 November 2019. The awards reward and celebrate students, apprentices and teachers for excellence and passion in the industry.

Hamed Allahyari arrived in Australia as an asylum seeker and completed his course in English as an Additional Language at VU Polytechnic. Hamed now runs a social enterprise café, Cafe Sunshine & SalamaTea, offering employment to asylum seekers and refugees.

Our commercial cookery students were invited to support Chef Mark Normoyle and his team of chefs in preparing menus for two high profile events held at the Melbourne Showgrounds earlier this month.

VU Polytechnic are hosting delegates from Sekolah Tinggi Pariwisata Nusa Dua Bali (Bali Tourism Institute) and Suzhou Vocational Health College in October.
