So my name's Courtney Manger. So I studied event management at Victoria University. Me studying this course really has helped me grow. I have a lot more confidence and I understand how to be an event coordinator and it's given me a lot more opportunities.

Hands-on learning

Courtney

I've always wanted to be an event coordinator. So I wanted to study at Vic Uni. We had a lot of practical events themselves. So we ran careers day virtually as well as physically on the campus as well. We also prepared different proposals for like careers day, charity dinners, just different events. They were trying to expose us so that when we do get out into the real world and we're out running events, we understand how the procedures work.

Flexible learning model

Courtney

Studying wise, I was able to be virtual. I was still currently living in Mildura when I first started. So it was amazing that they were able to give the opportunity even though I lived six hours away. I also did a lot of RPLs, so recognised of prior learning. So they were amazing in that way, as well as moving my credits over as well.

Kickstart your career

Courtney

I never thought that I would ever get the chance to work here or be here. Like, I thought I would just be here as a guest just sitting down watching the footy, but now being a part of the grand final or the fact I got to kick a footy on the G or meeting celebrities and just different people all the time, like, it's an amazing achievement I find.
