Victoria University Polytechnic has been shortlisted for the 2019 Internal Learning Solution of the Year by the Learning and Performance Institute for the successful implementation of its award-winning blended-learning model.
This award is presented to an internal training team that has undertaken a major learning and development project that is innovative in concept and has produced significant performance improvement for the organisation.
Other shortlisted finalists for this category include Hugo Boss, Bayer US, Aviva, Capgemini and Slovenska Sporitelna. Grant Dreher, Vice-President, Vocational Education and Executive Director, Victoria University Polytechnic expressed the Polytechnic's pride in being nominated for the award.
“We are enormously proud to be named as a finalist for the 2019 Learning Awards and to be transforming education via the use of high-quality training programs, enabled by technology that focuses on skills development and preparing students for the workforce.”
The Learning and Innovation team at Victoria University Polytechnic, led by Ms Gail Bray (General Manager, Learning and Innovation) successfully implemented the organisation-wide blended learning Project 100, which affected 100 qualifications and over 600 staff across the TAFE business.
“Government reforms of 2012 had significant impact on TAFE institutes in Victoria. Project 100 was key to the Polytechnic re-establishing itself as a reputable provider of quality education. This project is a true story of transformational change in the midst of adversity that triumphed over multiple challenges.”
The objective of the project was to build engaging, high-quality, modular, training programs, enabled by technology that focuses on skill development and preparing students for the workforce.
In addition, Victoria University Polytechnic's Learning and Innovation team won top honours from the 2017 LearnX Impact Awards for its blended learning model and interactive design.
