State School Spectacular Success

15 May 2018

Make-up students from Victoria University Polytechnic’s Diploma of Screen and Media jazzed up participants getting set to star in the State Schools Spectacular.

Marking the third year of collaboration with VU Polytechnic, 10 students were provided with the opportunity to work behind the scenes of the annual Victorian State Schools Spectacular promotional photoshoot.

The partnership provides a unique industry networking opportunity for the students, as well as giving them first-hand experience in how a high-profile photoshoot is managed behind the scenes. VU Polytechnic courses provide hands-on industry based learning opportunities for students ensuring they graduate ready for the world of work.

Student Jaidyn Kemp enjoyed the experience and hopes to work at the live production event in September. She said the photoshoot was a great opportunity to see how makeup is applied in industry as part of a photographic production.

“I think it was a great opportunity for us to see how makeup gets done for a production/shoot and also how to work in a group environment. I would love to continue on with the school spectacular and do the makeup in September.”

The State Schools Spectacular is held annually and telecast on national TV. For more information on the event check out the State Schools Spectacular website.
