Congratulations to Diploma of Library and Information Services alumnus, Nicholas Luxton, who was awarded the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) Student Award. The prize was presented by the ALIA State Manager for Victoria, Eileen Louden.

The student awards are presented to the highest achieving student from all ALIA accredited library and info science courses as a means of recognising excellence.

The award presentation was held on National Library Technicians Day, as part of the National Library Week celebration (20-26 May 2019).

VU Polytechnic Library Studies teacher, and former ALIA VIC Branch Manager, Margie Anderson said of the event:

“National Library week is an opportunity for the industry to celebrate and advocate libraries. It is our chance to promote libraries to decision makers and funding bodies.

It is an ideal opportunity to build our professional networks and to observe best practice in libraries.”

Congratulations Nicholas on your achievement!
