On Friday 26 August, Microsoft staff visited our Footscray Nicholson Campus to watch a series of presentations on new and emerging computer technology delivered by our Certificate III in Information Technology ICT30120 students.
Our students presented a range of interesting topics including:
- firefighting and industrial robots
- laser technology currently being developed to speed up communication in outer space
- a pitch for a new piece of software that will protect young people online
- polymath robotics automation software for industrial vehicles, and
- small modular reactors and the latest uses of AI in outer space.
This event was the second time that our IT students have delivered face-to-face presentations since the end of COVID-19 lockdowns, and provided our students' skills in research, communication, and industry collaboration.
A huge thank you to Pooja Mehta, Priya Salwan, Simon Lamb and Manisha Bajpai from Microsoft for taking some time out of their busy schedules to provide our students with their feedback and insights into the latest industry developments.
