Inspired by her mother, a legal assistant of 19 years, Gabrielle Moll-Vignes decided to pursue a career in law. She credits Victoria Polytechnic's Advanced Diploma of Legal Practice for helping her define her specific area of interest.
“I decided to undertake the Advanced Diploma of Legal Practice course because I was interested in a career in law, but wanted to know more about it before starting a degree. I‘d heard reviews from past students about the course, and was familiar with Victoria Polytechnic's great reputation in this area. I just knew that this was the perfect way to figure out the area of law I wanted to specialise in.
By completing this course I came to realise that I enjoy a balance between liaising with people and managing legal documents, and that I would be best suited to working in a corporate legal environment. This was the best part of my studies – realising that I am suited to a legal career, and being able to identify my area of interest.
During my studies I volunteered for a non-profit organisation and gained some work experience as a legal administrative assistant. These experiences gave me the opportunity to apply course knowledge in a working environment. Studying at Victoria Polytechnic has made me competent in the legal essentials and many opportunities have been available to me since I finished my course.
