The VU Polytechnic Hospitality, Tourism and Events Careers Day, held on Wednesday 7 September, provided our prospective and current students the opportunity to connect with leading industry players in the Visitor Economy.
Over 80 attendees learned more about the vast career options in this sector, built networks with industry professionals, and participated in specialist workshops such as resume writing, interview techniques and cooking demos.
Key note speakers from our partners discussed their business structure, health and safety practices, employment opportunities, and the attributes the hiring managers look for in candidates. Industry partners included:

A special shout out to our Diploma of Event Management SIT50316 students, who worked hard to make this a successful event – from planning the initial expressions of interest with employers and attendees, through to the event execution on the day.
